Some bears keep their porridge in cryonic storage

Some keep it hot on the hearth

Bearing that in mind, most other worlds we'll find

Won't turn out to be at all like Earth

But if we find the right planet, we can study and scan it

Then we'll take it and make it our own

Won't by fryin' or freezin', let me tell you the reason:

It'll be in the Goldilocks Zone

(Goldilocks Zone)  We'll provide the oxygen and water

(Goldilocks Zone)  Somewhere out in outer space

                  There's a planet in the Goldilocks Zone

 

With our stellar scopes, we've got stellar hopes

That we can spot a planet near a star

As a general rule, it'll be hot or cool

If its orbit is too near or far

But if it's in between, it won't be too extreme

We might not even have to build a dome

We like our worlds lukewarm, so let's terraform

On a planet in the Goldilocks Zone

There'll be quite a shock if a giant rock

Blows our continental crust to bits

But Earth is so much wetter, it'll still be better

Even after the big one hits

'Cause, in spite of our notions, without rivers and oceans

That new world is just a ball of stone

I guess we'll water-bomb it, come on and drop that comet

Now the world is wet, but it's not ready yet

It needs the right kind of atmosphere

Plant some blue-green slime, then give it lots of time

On the order of a hundred years

If the wind is breezy, we'll be breathin' easy

Once that algae's good and grown

Asphyxiation is scary, that's why we're keepin' it airy
