A song for Mr. Morden — like the symbol of the raven in "I Go Like the Raven", the Shadows (or their ships) screaming across the "dark and dervish sky" herald a wily trickster with a mysterious past and unknown powers.

Dave & Tracy's original song is as notable for its virtuosic instrumental breaks as for its haunting lyrics, and this new recording of my parody finally features a most appropriate theme in that role.

lyrics by Benjamin Newman

ttto: "I Go Like the Raven" by Dave Carter
and featuring the main title theme from Babylon 5 by Christopher Franke

/ Am - / G - / Am G / - Am - /

Out on the Rim we found us a planet
Don't know what happened to the race that ran it
But something went wrong when we tried to scan it
Things were looking bad, oh

We didn't know what we had awakened,
But we soon found out there was no escapin'
Into their service we were taken
I go like the Shadows

/ Dm CG / C -E / 1st / G Am - /

The future must be forged in pain
War and chaos, loss and gain
Over the swirling hyperlanes
I go like the Shadows

/ Am - / G - / F - / E - - - /

-BREAK-

We arrived on a standard vector
Nothing showed up on our detector
In fact we found the entire sector
Silent as a tomb

But when we scanned for signs of people
That world woke up in a mad upheaval
Calling every kind of evil
Home to Z'Ha'Dum

The future must be forged in pain...

-BREAK-

Once they strode the stars like giants
Now once again their ships are flyin'
Shrieking out their mournful cry
From all the worlds they haunt

I'm with them, I'm in their protection
All that I do is at their direction
I can only ask one question
What is it you want?

The future must be forged in pain...

/ " / " / " / " / F - / G - / Am - - - /

-BREAK-
